Main components of Ball Valve include Body, Ball, Seat (PTFE, RPTFE, CFT, Viton etc), Stem, Gland, and Lever. Ball Valve is a quarter turn valve which is operated by rotating the ball at its axis to open and close the fluid flow. Ball Valve is most commonly used Shutoff valve as compared to any other conventional valves. Ball Valve provides bubble tight shutoff as it uses Soft seat for sealing. Also, the Ball Valve is highly resistant to contaminated media as compared to other valves.

Ball Valve can be classified in to various types depending upon below factors

BASED ON TYPE OF DESIGN

  • Single piece Design: Single piece Ball Valve consists of body and connector which are union connected with each other. This design is simple as compared to other design.
  • 2-piece Design: 2-piece Ball Valve consists of Body and Connector which are connected by the means of Bolt and nut. Main advantage of using 2-piece design is that the leakage
  • 3-Piece Design: 3-piece design is most commonly used Ball Valve which consists of Body and two connectors which are connected to each other by stud and nut.

BASED ON THE BALL ARRANGEMENT

  • Floating Ball: Floating Ball Valve uses un supported ball which rests on two seats to control the fluid flow.
  • Trunnion Mounted: Trunnion mounted Ball Valve uses supported ball to control flow of fluid.

BASED ON THE PORT

  • Full port: Full port or Full bore Ball Valve offers full flow without pressure loss which means the ball opening is exactly same as that of pipe size.
  • Reduced port: Reduced port Ball Valve offers restricted flow with pressure loss which means the ball opening is one size smaller than that of pipe size.

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Provision of High temperature seat is provided upon customer request.
  • Arrangement of locking handle arrangement.
  • ‘T’ handle for easy operation of valve.
  • Actuator, Limit switch on special request.
  • ISO 5211 mounting pad bare shaft ball valve can be provided.
